Support Groups, Wellness Groups and Activity Descriptions
All Groups at Granite State Monarchs are free, confidential, facilitated and co-facilitated by staff and members
Please contact us if you have any questions or concerns about the groups or our programs.
Check-In: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday at 10:15—10:30 am; Wed. at 12:15—12:30 pm
Join us at the beginning of each day for Check-In, a time where we gather and each share how we feel about the upcoming day or anything that happened the night before. It is always acceptable to say pass if you don’t have anything you would like to say. Join with us as we create a supportive community!
Check Out: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday at 3:45—4:00 pm; no Check-Out on Wed.

***NEW GROUP!!!*** Advocacy in Action (Every other Tuesday, 2:30-3:30 pm)—Ever wanted to see some change in the way things work? Come to Advocacy in Action and learn how to write a letter to your legislature that will have some impact!
***NEW GROUP!!!*** Arts and Crafts for Recovery (Fridays, 1:30-3:00 pm)—For many people, creativity plays a key role in maintaining recovery and wellness. Join GSM member Laura and other special guests to flex your artistic muscles and make some art that will help inspire you as you continue on the road of recovery and wellness!
Creative Writing (Fridays, 11:00 am-12:00 pm)—For beginner through experienced writers. Get together and write short stories, poems, memoirs, and more. Submit your work to the monthly newsletter! Get over “writer’s block” with various writing ideas. If you wish, you may share your work and get feedback.
Community Meeting (Thursdays, 12:45-1:45 pm)—The Granite State Monarchs is your Center, so attend this meeting and learn about trips and events; use your voice to suggest, question, make a complaint or comment.
Depression/Bi-Polar Support (Wednesdays, 5:30-7:00 pm)—Get support from others who have personal experiences with depression and bi-polar disorder in a safe and confidential environment.
Did You Know? (Last Friday of the month, 11:00 am-11:45 pm)—From the trivial to the super-important, you’ll be amazed at the things you’ll learn! Did You Know? will be held upstairs in the Barn.
***NEW GROUP NAME!!!*** Dual Diagnosis Support Group (Mondays, 2:30-3:30 pm)--A confidential, non-12 step support group for people who are dealing with various addictions and mental health challenges, facilitated by staff who have experience handing their own addictions and mental health.
Empowerment (Every other Tuesday, 1:15-2:15 pm)—This lively group provides an opportunity to learn about how to exercise and gain greater control, and develop a stronger voice in decisions affecting your life. We discuss empowerment at all levels—personal, community, state, national, and international. You have a choice! You have a voice!
Fitness and Wellness (Tuesdays, 10:30-11:30 am)—Sometimes it’s hard to exercise alone—enjoy some stretching and walk with some company!
InShape Fitness and Wellness (Wednesdays, 11:00 am-12:00 pm)—Facilitated by an InShape mentor. Learn about exercising, nutrition and healthy living.
Intentional Peer Support (IPS) Discussion (Thursdays, 1:45-2:45 pm)—What exactly is “Intentional Peer Support?” Please join us for an on-going discussion to broaden your understanding of what practicing “IPS” is all about. Facilitated by GSM’s Executive Director!
Meditation & Relaxation ***New Name, Same Group*** (Tuesdays, 11:30 am-12:00pm and Fridays, 10:30-11:00 am)—Explore various forms of meditation and Relaxation and start your mornings focused and refreshed!
Movie of the Week (Wednesdays, 3:00-5:00 pm)—View movies of various genres and themes. Feel free to suggest a movie or bring in a movie to share.
Music Appreciation (Wednesdays, 1:30-3:00 pm)—Come listen to a variety of music, recorded and live, sing and dance along, if you wish, or just relax. You are invited to bring 2 songs to share.
NAMI Connection Support Group (Mondays, 5:30-7:00 pm)—Run by consumers for consumers, based on the principles of recovery. Please call ahead if you would like to attend. All calls are confidential. Newsletter Workgroup (Thursdays, 2:45-3:30 pm)—Have fun by joining us in brainstorming, and keeping our content, layout, and art creative and fresh! We are always looking for original artwork and writing pieces from consumers. Bring some to share!
Pantry/Grocery/Pharmacy Run (Wednesdays, 1:30-3:00 pm)—Do you need a ride to the grocery store, pharmacy or the Community Kitchen? We can provide you with free transportation. Call 352-5093. Service is only offered one day per week so please be sure to sign up in advance.
Print Week (Week of March 19)—Come join us as we print the “Butterfly Bulletin Newsletter” and get it ready for delivery! Please note: date and time is subject to change without notice.
Psychiatric Survivors (Fridays, 12:30-1:15 pm)—A safe and confidential place to talk about issues such as past and present treatment, medication, changes in treatment, stigma, and advocating for yourself.
Spirituality (Every other Tuesday, 1:15-2:15 pm)—A safe and non-denominational discussion about how spirituality effects our mental health.
Team Meal Making & Community Lunch (Thursdays, 11:00 am-12:45 pm)—We bring everything out to the barn and sit around the tables family style. Birthdays are celebrated once a month with cake!
Vocational and Educational Support (Mondays, 10:30-11:30 am)—Work on or create a resume, explore different volunteer positions in the community and/or research continuing education classes!
Warm Line (Seven Nights a Week, 365 Nights a Year, 5:00-10:00 pm)—A confidential and nonjudgmental peer support service offered nightly. Call the Warm Line at (603) 352-5309 or toll free at 1 (866) 352-5093 if you are feeling lonely, stressed or if you just want to talk with someone.
WRAP-UP (Mondays, 11:30 am-12:30 pm)—WRAP is an acronym for “Wellness Recovery Action Plan.” Come create a plan to help keep yourself in a state of wellness and recovery.
